Kompally is a fast-growing residential suburb on NH44 in north Hyderabad, between Suchitra, Dulapally and Medchal. Known schools nearby include Sherwood Public School, Narayana School Kompally and St. Michael's School at Alwal. For healthcare, Renova Hospital Kompally, Ankura Hospital Kompally and Malla Reddy Narayana Multispecialty Hospital at Suraram are close by. Daily shopping centres on D-Mart and Decathlon on the highway, with Nexus Hyderabad at Kukatpally the nearest large mall. There is no metro yet; the JBS to Medchal corridor through Kompally is only proposed, and the nearest working station is JBS Parade Ground, about 14 km away. TGSRTC buses run along NH44 to JBS and Secunderabad, the ORR is about 5 km north, and the airport is roughly 45 to 50 km away.
Sherwood Public School, a CISCE school founded in 1984, is one of the older established names in the area. Narayana School Kompally and Sadhu Vaswani International School offer the CBSE curriculum, while St. Michael's School at Alwal, about 3 km south, runs classes up to grade 12. Several state board schools, including Sri Chaitanya Techno School, operate within the suburb.
For higher education, Malla Reddy Engineering College at Maisammaguda and St. Martin's Engineering College at Dulapally are both a short drive away.
Renova Hospital Kompally is a multispecialty centre with a 24 hour emergency unit and ICU, and Ankura Hospital Kompally focuses on women and children with neonatal intensive care. Surekha Hospital near Dulapally X Road handles routine care. Malla Reddy Narayana Multispecialty Hospital at Suraram, roughly 6 km west, is the nearest large tertiary hospital, and the major corporate hospitals of Secunderabad are about 15 km south.
Most daily shopping happens along the NH44 stretch, where D-Mart, Decathlon Kompally and a string of supermarkets, restaurants and showrooms sit close together. For a full mall experience, residents usually head to Nexus Hyderabad (formerly Forum Sujana Mall) at Kukatpally, roughly 15 km away, or to the shopping streets of Secunderabad.
Kompally has no metro station. A JBS to Medchal elevated corridor running along NH44 has a completed project report and is part of the Hyderabad Metro Phase II proposal, but it is not yet sanctioned or under construction. The nearest operational station today is JBS Parade Ground on the Green Line, about 14 km south. For suburban rail, Bolarum and Gundla Pochampally stations on the Secunderabad to Medchal MMTS line are a few kilometres away.
TGSRTC city buses run frequently along NH44 between Medchal and Secunderabad, stopping at Kompally, Suchitra and Bowenpally. The Jubilee Bus Station (JBS) in Secunderabad is the main terminal for these services and for onward connections across the city and to the airport.
NH44, the Hyderabad to Nagpur highway, is the main artery and links Kompally to Secunderabad, about 15 km south. The Outer Ring Road can be joined at the Medchal side, roughly 5 km north, which gives a signal-free route to HITEC City and Gachibowli, about 25 to 30 km away. Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamshabad is roughly 45 to 50 km away via the ORR. The Suchitra to Jeedimetla road connects west towards Kukatpally.
Kompally itself has grown from a highway village into a dense residential belt of gated apartment projects and independent houses on either side of NH44. It sits between the Suchitra junction to the south and Dulapally and Medchal to the north, and is popular with buyers who want larger homes at lower prices than the western IT corridor while staying close to Secunderabad.
