Devanahalli, about 40 km north of central Bengaluru along NH 44 (Bellary Road), is the town closest to Kempegowda International Airport. Schools include Akash International School, Gnana Deepa Academy and Nalanda Residential International School. Healthcare comes from Akash Hospital, the General Hospital Devanahalli and larger hospitals in Hebbal and Yelahanka. Phoenix Mall of Asia on Bellary Road at Byatarayanapura is the nearest large mall. There is no operational metro yet; the Blue Line airport corridor, with stations such as Doddajala and Airport City, is under construction. BMTC buses run from the Devanahalli bus station to Majestic and Hebbal, and Vayu Vajra buses serve the airport. The airport is roughly 8 to 10 km away and Hebbal about 30 km.
Akash International School, a CBSE school up to Class 12, is the best-known school in the town. Gnana Deepa Academy Residential School and Nalanda Residential International School are other established options, and several state board schools serve the surrounding villages. Families wanting a wider choice often look at the school clusters in Yelahanka and along Bellary Road towards Hebbal.
Akash Hospital, attached to the Akash medical college campus, is the main private hospital near the town, and the General Hospital Devanahalli provides government care. For specialised treatment, Aster CMI and Manipal hospitals around Hebbal and Yelahanka are roughly 25 to 35 km away along Bellary Road.
Devanahalli has no large mall of its own. Phoenix Mall of Asia at Byatarayanapura on Bellary Road is about 25 km away, and the airport terminal area has some retail and dining. Daily needs are met by the Devanahalli town market, supermarkets on the highway and stores in Yelahanka.
The Blue Line Phase 2B airport metro, running from KR Puram via Hebbal and along Bellary Road to the airport, is under construction, with stations including Doddajala and Airport City near the terminals and an opening targeted around 2027. Until then there is no metro service. Devanahalli railway station lies on the Yelahanka to Chikkaballapur line, and the airport has its own halt station on the same line.
BMTC runs regular buses from Kempegowda Bus Station in Majestic and from Hebbal to the Devanahalli new bus station, along with routes towards Hoskote and Sadahalli Gate. BMTC Vayu Vajra services connect the airport with most parts of the city, and KSRTC buses towards Chikkaballapur and beyond pass through the town.
NH 44 is the main link, offering a mostly signal-free run past the airport to Hebbal, about 30 km away, with Manyata Tech Park at a similar distance and MG Road roughly 40 km. The Satellite Town Ring Road, being built to connect Doddaballapura, Devanahalli and Hoskote, will improve access to the east and west. The planned aerospace park, IT investment region and business parks near the airport are the main local job hubs.
Karahalli is a gram panchayat village in Devanahalli taluk, roughly 10 to 15 km from Devanahalli town towards the Chikkaballapur side, and about 16 km from the airport. It remains largely agricultural, with villages such as Avathi and Bijjawara nearby and Nandi Hills a short drive away. Plotted and farmland projects are the main form of development, and civic infrastructure is still limited.
